God the Son was so serious about earthly living for the Father's glory that He gave His life to fulfill His purpose. Does God expect less from us?

“…the servant is not greater than his lord…” — John 15:20
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” — Luke 9:24

Five Reasons We Should Engage in Global Ministry

Redeemed — God has redeemed us from His wrath and adopted us into His family. Now we are in the family business. We express our gratitude and love for Him by extending His plan of redemption to all; to the ends of the earth.

Representatives — We have been made ambassadors of Christ who have been given the message of reconciliation and the ministry of reconciliation — as though God were beseeching people through us to be reconciled to God.

Responsibility — We will face accountability for our actions on earth. Our work shall be tried. (1 Cor. 3:11-14) We shall give an account of the things we have done in this body whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:9-10) John exhorts us to not be ashamed when we see Jesus, but to abide in Him and purify ourselves as He is pure. (1 John 2:28-3:3)

Rewards — Five of the imperishable crowns or rewards earned by believers. (Col. 3:23-24, Eph. 6:8, 2 Cor. 5:9-10)

  • The crown of victory (Reward for discipline) (1 Cor. 9:24-27)
  • The crown of rejoicing (Reward of evangelism) (1 Th. 2:19)
  • The crown of righteousness (Reward for living for Jesus) (2 Ti. 4:8)
  • The crown of life (Reward for endurance over trials and temptation) (James 1:12, Rev. 2:10)
  • The crown of glory (Reward for shepherding people) (1 Peter 5:4)

Rejoicing — Luke 15:10: “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.” — John 12:26
