Christ's commands to reach the whole world with the Gospel were not for a few individuals but for the whole global Church.

In 1 Corinthians 12 & 13 the apostle Paul tells us that we are Christ's Body who are individuals with a diversity of gifts. We are to accomplish the objective of Christ as the Head, working together in love by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Ephesians 4, he shows us that we are to use these gifts in love in the unity of the Spirit to edify the Body and equip the saints for maturity and ministry.

There are a variety of roles and ministries necessary to proclaim God's glory to the ends of the earth.

First is evangelism. Evangelism is God's way of saving the perishing and expanding ministry. God's heart is that people everywhere might know Him and obey Him. We are His vessels.

Second is discipleship. People will know God's purpose and their own purpose in the world when someone takes time to show them God's identity, character, purpose, and plan. As they grow in knowing God, people are rooted in their identity in Christ, their foundation for holiness, and His purpose for them in the world. Disciples produce fruit to glorify the Father and send laborers.

The result of discipleship will be outreach, leadership, and equipping people for ministry both at home and abroad. As people grow in faith they will learn the importance of proclaiming God's glory to the ends of the earth. They will grow in understanding their own roles in evangelism, discipleship, equipping, leadership, sending, and going to the ends of the earth to make Christ known. Equipped saints might be sent as laborers around the world.

A key part of sending messengers to the ends of the earth is having a spiritually maturing Body of local Christ-followers who know God's mission and are equipping the saints to fill a variety of roles in establishing thriving churches where Christ has been unknown.
